Media rescan not working

I had my WD My Book live exchanged due to a power fault and my new one doesn’t have twonky on it, instead it has DLNA server settings, which I have setup, but for some reason it will not scan for new content (it’s been weeks and nothing new is there)

Only way to do it, is a complete rebuild of the database, as selecting rescan doesn’t work.

O can’t find any solution to this, but it seems it’s not a new problem according to a thread I found from last year

Any ideas? I’m running the latest firmware

Thanks

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.

That’s been a “known bug” with the WD-provided DLNA server since the dawn of time, unfortunately, it’s never been fixed.

I did contact them when I first had the issue, I was given a link to install Twonky!

That obviously didn’t work, as the device has never had twonky on it and was then told dlna was the only option, but it clearly doesn’t work

Is there anything else that can be used?
