Why can't I create new Folders within the WD while working on my iMac?

I’m really a novice when it comes to NAS drives but I managed to hook up my WD MyBookLive 2TB and it seems to be working OK except for one thing.  I can only save files created on my iMac to existing folders/directories.  I use both a PC and a mac, but the mac is my primary system to do graphics work.  I use the PC just to run CorelDraw and VISIO, nothing else.  I guess I set up everything on the PC as far as the page that gets you into the WD drive, but shouldn’t a network drive be transparent to both the mac and the pc?

Is there a way to create an access page on the mac?  But whats confusing me is the complication of creating folders.

Hope I explained this properly.

What is the error that you are getting?

Where are you trying to create the folder?

Are you creating a simple folder inside of a share folder or you are trying to create a new share folder? If is a new share folder, please note that you need to do that through the dashboard.
