I have a 2Tb Western Digital MyBookLive NAS storage drive.

 

I’ve been using it happily for over a year and use it to store all of our photos and videos.

I’ve been using the public Shared Photos and Shared Videos folders to store these files but have started to think that this may not be the most secure and best solution for storing these precious files.

 

Is this a secure and safe place to store them or should I be creating a private share with restricted user access to store our videos and photos?

If you need security, private share with restricted user access is the way to go.

However, if you need to get them via the WD 2GO apps, you need the files in the public shares.
