WD MY BOOK LIVE and srt subtitle streaming

I own a WD MBL; which came right out the box with the latest firmware update which I believe is including WD media server and without Twonky and should support srt streaming.

I have 4 clients with mediaplayers, my philips TV, a mediaplayer from Sitecom (MD270), XBOX and my laptop. The only device on which I can stream the srt subs is on my laptop with VLC Player.

So I figured that my MBL does support srt streaming but my other devices don’t (with dnla - the do with USB). Is this correct? And which mediaplayer I should buy that allows me to stream subs with my MBL?

Hello,

Have you tried playing the files through windows shares?

As a recommendation, you can use the WDTV Live Hub or the WDTV Live SMP. You just need to make sure that you play the files through windows share.
