After the update, (installation completed and OK) I must enter a username and a password to enter the Public share on the disk!

Is this OK, before I was not using a username/password and I was able to access the data in the Public directory!

Do I have to set new username and password for the other users?

Can you please specify what is the model of the drive?

Looks like you are in the wrong forum.

The Public folder should not request any password.

Try resetting the unit.

Please post a screen shot of the prompt you are getting on the screen.
