When playing my itunes library which I copied to my My Book, it will play any tune by any artist in the Album or Artist section, but if I wiish to shuffle from all tracks it claims the tune is in a format it doesn’t support? Is this a PS3 issue or the My Book? And can it be sorted?

Have you tried to do the same from a different source.

Please note that the MBL is the storage unit is not the player. Check the settings on the PS3.
