Hi - I’ve had a few My Book drives pass through my hands recently; today it was a My Book Live 3TB single drive.
It was pingable (ethernet version) but couldn’t get anything else out of.
Took drive out of box and it I could see the 4 partitions under Windows (good news - its not encrypted) but its obviously a Linux file system. The main data partition is “ext4” which I tried to access under xubuntu and failed miserably.
Finally accessed the data with a Linux ext2/ext3 file system driver for Windows.

This driver worked under Windows 8.1 with the drive connected directly to the motherboard via SATA (blue screened on Windows7 via a USB cable).
