Subtitles & FLV files not showing

I got MBL 2TB couple of days ago and am puzzled with the subtitles as they are not showing. I’m using PS3 as media player. I can’t get subtitles to show with any file format. Also, FLV files are also not working (other files are streaming just fine).

Q1: Is this WD media server able to show subtitles?

Q2: Is this WD media server able to show FLV files?

Or is the only solution to update to Twonky 7?

Uhm, AFAIK, the PS3 doesn’t support FLV video.  Are you saying that it does?

And no, you don’t need to pay a license for Twonky on the MBL.   You just need to install the Twonky Patch provided by WD described in the release notes.

I’m not sure if PS3’s support external subtitles, either, but I won’t swear to it.   Everything I see online says that you have to use a transcoding media server that muxes subtitles in real time.
