Steaming Video Remotely

Hi All,

I got a 2tb MBL at the end of January, I want to move all of my Movies onto the Device as well as the Pictures and Documents that I am already keeping on there.

Problem is that I struggle to Steam the videos whilst I am not connected to the home network. It works ok-ish whilst I am at home, but as soon as I am away it freezes my laptop when I try to watch a movie on there.

My HTC Mobile phone seems to actually have better luck at streaming Videos via WD2go App.

Does anyone know if this is simply a setting that needs adjusting on my laptop, is there a format for the streaming that needs to be configured?

MBL is connected directly to my router and the Broadband it is connected to to 20Mb + (Laptop is then subsequently connected to 4Mb+ Connection)

Any help would be brilliant.

What is your internet UPLOAD speed?

My Speedtest results come back varying between 4 - 7Mbs

What’s the bitrate of the files you’re trying to stream?

Thats a good question…

Will check when I can get access to the MBL and update the post.

Cant figure out where in the properties it gives me a bit rate.

What sort of a difference will it be causing depending on the bitrate?
