I am able to allow people to access my My Book Live 2TB NAS drive content remotely, either through a laptop or an iPad. However, the video streaming for them is very slow. Is there anything I can do to speed up the streaming to them? Would setting a static IP address for my drive help? If yes, how do I do that?
It all depends on your ISP “Upload” speed limit. Changing your settings won’t change upload speed.
Go to www.speedtest.net to test your upload speed.
If all the speeds are fine locally at home, probably no.

When you are accessing the files thru the internet, the bottleneck will be your ISP speed, specially the UP speed.
Check to see how fast your current ISP down/up speeds are and if you want to, get a faster speed connection.
