My book live hangs/freezes when saving files

Hi,

I have a 2tb my book live connected to my office router. Whenever I go to save a file in word, excel or outlook my computer hangs and it seems to be because my computer tried to contact my drive ip/ public folder. I just tried saving an excel file from outlook onto my desktop and a dialog box came up saying “contacting 192.168…/public” and just causes outlook to freeze. I got the same message when saving files in other ms programes at the bottom of the screen and I have to press ESC to cancel the “contacting ip/public”. I’m using winXP fyi.

Hello, have you verified if the same problem happens when you try to copy files manually? You can try using a static IP for the My Book to see if that helps.
