Hello I want to back up my book live If I purchase a new my book cloud would I be able to transfer all my movies and files to it and then use my book live as a back up Or is there a simpler solution ?

Yes, you will be able to transfer the files between devices and the WD My Cloud will allow you to target a WD My Book Live as the target destination for a backup.
