My Book Live - Remote Access Ports 80 & 443

Hi,

Ive just setup a small webserver using my Raspberry PI on my Network

When setting it up, I needed to use port 8080 for the website as Port 80 is currently being forwarded by my router to the MBL to enable remote access.

In my router, I forward the following ports for my MBL, port 80 & 443. Both use the same port for internal & external.

Is there a way to change this so I can use port 80 for my website instead using of port 8080?

Thanks

You shouldn’t need to.  In the port forwarding configuration, your router should allow you to redirect external port 8080 to internal port 80.

EDIT:  I think I misunderstood your question.  If you want to use EXTERNAL port 80 for your website (instead of the MBL using it for remote access) then you need to manually configure remote access on your MBL instead of using Auto.

Thanks, I think I am manual mode anyway (as my last router didnt support UPnP), so I kept it in manual mode even with my new router.

If I changed my MBL to port 8080 insted of port 80, would it work as it currently does with the WD Apps/wd2go.com etc?

Thanks

Yes, it should…
