Issue with creating a new user

hi guys,

need some help.  i created a user for mybook live, and it is not allowing me to deselect the “public” folder.  as per the manual, there should be a radio button that allows me to deselect these folders, but they are checkmarked in Blue and it is not allowing me to change the access, OR the access to read only.

can someone please help me!?!?!!

You posted in the My Cloud section, but say you’re creating a user for My Book Live.   Please confirm which product you have.

If, in the USER panel, the shares are all marked with Blue Checkmarks, it’s because all of the Shares are set to “Public.”  You need to set the Shares to Private, and then set the user access permissions for the shares.

That’s how WD designed the software. Public and TimeMachine shares are not changable via the UI. If you search you can find a way to prevent user access via directory permissions.
