I already know the answer… I think…
But can I or can I not format mybooklive to fat32 using mac osx.???
it is not possible on a mac using the ethernet cable with the drive connected directly.
can I do this over the network?
is there a fix??

no you cannot do it as you describe. it is a SERVER, not a slave drive.

It is never necessary to format a NAS to a filesystem specific to the client. The NAS is in control of its own filesystem, and the user shouldn’t even need to know what that is.
By saying “is there a fix,” you seem to imply that something is broken. What is the issue you’re trying to address?
