Error Message in Web Access (Missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar)

Hi WD Tech Support,

I seem to be unable to access MyLiveBook from web, after login to WD2go, I get this

message.   Besides a dashboard like webpage, I see a blank square under the title

Shares(4).  In the blank square is “error, click for details”.

My java is updated as requested by the webpage when i first come to this URL.

www.WD2go.com/login.do

Any help please?  Thanks.

Application Error

SecurityException

Missing required Permissions manifest attribute in main jar:

http://192.168.0.15:80/Admin/webapp/htdocs/MapDrive.jar?v=18

I’m having the exact same error.

Download and install this software on your PC. There is a Mac version also.  Use the software to connect to your MBL, rather than the wd2go web interface.

by the way, your error problem is related to java. Your browser is probably not enabling java for this particular webpage. In any case, use the software and your don’t need to worry about this problem

Hello,

I am encountering the same problem (missing required permissions manifest attribute in main jar: http://ip_address/map-drive.jar?v=18)

using the software indicated by wdlive76, I can access it, but I cannot open it in explorer.

Does somebody knows when the firmaware will be updated, so the feature that I have counted on when I have done the purchase will work?

Thank you,

Vasile

Hi There,

I stumbled across your this thread while solving a similar issue for my gf not being able to log into her school website tonight.  Did you by any chance update Java?> (It can happen automatically) Anyways, I fixed the problem by

1)copying the URL of the website i needed to go to

  1. Open the “Configure Java” app in the Java folder (start, all programs, Java)

  2. Click on “Security Tab”

  3. Click on Exceptions

  4. Click on add exception and click on the white box until you can type, then paste the URL

It may warn you that it is unsecured, im not sure if Mybook supports SSL, im sure they probably do, in which case add an s in front of http (ex https:/./. www.google.com))

I dont own a WD HD but i hope this helps!!!

Adding the exception in Java worked perfectly!  Thanks Shpid0inkle!

Hi,

I have added below exception, but in 2-3 seconds the page hides the shares and exception is thrown in java console

http://192.168.1.10:80/mapdrive/map-drive.jar?v=18

exception

Java Plug-in 10.51.2.13
Using JRE version 1.7.0_51-b13 Java HotSpot™ Client VM

Missing Application-Name manifest attribute for: http://192.168.1.10:80/mapdrive/map-drive.jar?v=18
Missing Permissions manifest attribute in main jar: http://192.168.1.10:80/mapdrive/map-drive.jar?v=18

I am sure this is related to java version. Earlier it used to work properly.

Sudhir Kankal

I catcher the same problem today when I update the Java to new version 7 per the screen’s instruction.

Even I followed the hint by putting the URL into the exception list of Java Control Panel .

It makes me very annoying and anyone can help ???

Note : the config of new Java version is really bad …I can’t paste the URL into list and need to enter the text manually ???

CTRL V , works for paste.

No got for me on a WD My cloud.

Using the app for now. Works perfectly on my adroid phone.

OH yeah - Sort it out WD/Oracle who ever…

See if this applies as well…
