Do all the computers on my network need to install the software?

hi,

I am very interested in getting the My Book Live personal cloud storage device, but have some questions about it before i put down the money for it.

Do all the computers on my network need to install the software for them to access the drive? or do i need to only do it once to get the drive started?

This drive would be for a small business that i work for and is very important to get this answered before i buy it.

thanks

NAS devices for the most part, does not require any software to access it. You can manage it via a browser and can access the drive with windows explorer as well as map drives.

Now to do backups, it all depends on your needs, you can use the software that comes with it, purchase a new one, get a shareware, use build-in tools with the OS, etc. It will all depend if they can work with NAS devices.

I personally use robocopy and rsync.

thank you this is great … meaning only the admin needs to have the software right

thanks again
