Deploying a second MYBOOKLIVE NAS

When I installed my first MYBOOKLIVE, it deployed seamlessly, with no specific changes due to configuration or anything else. I have now purchased a second one, and it has not yet arrived. However, since the first one shows up as “MYBOOKLIVE”, is there any way to change the name of the second one to something else, such as “SECOND”, so as not to confuse it.

Additionally, since the second drive will be used to back up a mac, it will need reformatting to the mac filesystem format. Where might I find instructions as to how to do that?

Thanks

the MBL works out of the box with Mac or Windows.

In the Dashboard you can change the name of the MBL.

You can’t.

Thanks VERY much for the prompt answer.  Somewhere recently (I forget where) in documentation regarding use of MYBOOKLIVE, I had read that reformatting to HFS+ was required for MYBOOKLIVE or any disk to be used for Mac backup without data loss. Since it cannot be reformatted, but works flawlesslyly out of the box, what other arrangement prevents data loss in recording the various forks present in the Mac filesystem?

You might be confused a bit…

There are differences between backing up to an external drive vs a NAS.

MBL is a NAS.

arrangements? Well it all depends on how you do backups. But none by default from MBL. MBL Duo has redundancy.
