Connection and file copy problem -I think not a usual problem

Dear MyBookLive fans

I have a following problem:

I can not map MyBook as a Microsoft Windows Network.

I can map network drive via WD2go - but with well known limitation of Web Client Network.

Even I am unable to discover the NAS with the Install CD /Setup.exe

I tried with WD LInk SW also failed.

NAS can be discovered just via WD2go.com

My PC is a company PC (WIN7)  within a DOMAIN, no way to create WORKGROUP.

I think that is the problem.

How can I copy files from this PC? Web Client Network is not a solution due to limitations  - http://community.wdc.com/t5/My-Book-Live/WebDAV-Primer-Microsoft-vs-WD-My-Book-Live-amp-My-Book-Live-Duo/td-p/463854

Please help,

Thanks in advance,

T

Find the IP for your NAS, see if it is listed in the router DHCP leases.

Once you find it, see if you can connect from Windows Explorer (NOT IE) as:

\

Example: \192.168.1.101

If the above works, there should not be a reason why you could not map a drive via the IP.

If the above works as well, you can access the dashboard via IE or any browser via the IP:

http:\

Example: http:\192.168.1.101

Thanks for the answer.

I could not map a drive, that is the problem. I tiried with different user, with password, without password etc.

No Workgroup on my laptop as I wrote!!!

Dasbord via IP is OK (I have not mentioned that is working).

Even I could not see NAS on my network (see bottom left corner) just via wd2go…(and http://192.168.0.106/UI/#)

This IP has address reservation and MAC Binding also)

It looks like your WD 2go connections might still be active.

You might need to delete those connections before you try a standard share.

Thanks for the answer.

I followed Your how-to without success.

As I mentioned my computer is in a domain, no homegroups and no way to create with this PC.

If no other idea I will create a homegroup with an other Windows PC and after I can join to this homegroup. (as Windows help suggested)

Thanks,
