Connecting with MBL

I have purchased the verizon Jetpak mifi to access the internet and I can’t plug the MBL into the jetpak so I am trying to set it up on my desktop and then access the internet through that means.  I can’t get the MBL to come up on the desktop because I have it connected via ethernet to my desktop directly.  How do I set it up to access through this means?

You need a router or switch for that
