Since I upgraded to the latest firmware, neither my laptop or my main computer can access the Mybook as a drive. I tried network diagnostics in both Windows 7 and Windoes 8 and get the message ‘The remote device or resource won’t accept the connection’. I have tried using WD Link and it freezes whilst trying to map the mybook drive. I have also tried to reinstall the setup software but this has not worked. I have also installed the latest version of smartware, again to no avail. Finally I disconnected the drive from the network and tried to re-mao in Windows. This also didn’t work.
Can I try and install earlier firmware - is this the solution?
Any help appreciated as I can’t access any files or backup at the moment. I can still access the device via the web page.
