I would like to stream my avi movies to different computer on my home network. Does this NAS allow it with the of vlc player? Or if someone has any suggestion on how to stream videos to different computers wirelessly or wired from the nas i would really appreciate it.

The My Book Live can be accessed as a Network Share. It also has Twonky, which is a built-in media server that allows it to serve media files to a DLNA compatible device, that can be a computer, a game console or a TV connected media player.
