I recently acquired a used WD My Book Live and I want to learn how to “reformat” (for lack of a better term) the drive so I am the administrator and can grant access to other users. Any ideas how I would do this?
Get the manual and check out the reset options.
You have two, one to reset the IP and password. Once you do that or even if you have access to the dashboard right now, reset it to factory defaults, this option will wipe out all data/users/settings/etc.
All admin tasks are done via the dashboard, users/shares/ftp/access/reset to factory/etc.
