Case sensitive samba export

I have a Mybook Live and a Mybook Live Duo.

I’m trying to enable case sensitive file access over the Samba mounts.

I’ve added “case sensitive = yes” to /etc/samba/smb.conf and restarted Samba (smbd restart).

My expectation is now that I can create and distinguish files like e.g. “ab” and “AB”.

This works nicely on the Mybook Live but not on the Mybook Live Duo.

Hi and welcome to the community towowd. Do you have the latest firmware installed on both?

Not sure (and I hesitate to upgrade just on suspicion, “never touch a running system”…).

But the Mybook Live Duo is a lot newer (more than 1 year) so I doubt this can be the cause (unless you have more actual evidence on this).

I’ve checked now, the reported version is:

MyBookLiveDuo 02.43.03-022 : Core F/W

clicking the search button for updates report no new update available

Please advise me how to enable case-sensitive mounts on my MyBookLiveDuo (just as on my MyBookLive where it works).
