I have Western Digital My Book Live Duo and the led is always yellow and when I try to connect using network or USB it failed I think the error is in the Case but I need the data on my disk I tried to connect the hard disk direct to my PC “Windows 7 and Windows 8” through Sata to backup my data but I cannot read the Partations

Is their any way to access my hard disk or software I can use.
If i bought a Western Digital My Book Live Duo same model or newer can I replace the hard drive and then access the old  hard disks using the new one?

You say you have a My Book Live Duo, but you posted in the My Book Live (not-Duo) forum.

Second, your PC won’t be able to read the partitions because they’re EXT3 / EXT4 format, which Windows doesn’t natively support.  You’ll need to load EXTx drivers to read the data.

Yes, in theory, if the issue is with the chassis, you can put both drives in a new box and it’ll work fine.
