Security bug? Access files without password via mail-link

Hey guys,

I’m a little bit shocked. From the Smart Cloud iOS-App, I would send myself a file via mail. The generated mail has not the file itself, only a long hyperlink.

When I click on this link at another PC, there’s no(!) question about a username or password. By clicking that http-link the download starts immediately! This means, everybody who know that link can access this file - without any control.

Is this right? Do I’ve set any settings wrong?
That could not be secure, when everybody can access files by a simple (unencrypted) link via mail!?

Thanks for your help!
Nick

There is no bug, that’s how it works. Once the link is created it can be used to access the file the link refers to without a user ID and password. SkyDrive works the same. Maybe others can verify same about other cloud services.

Thanks for your feedback! But i am really feel unsafe …

Is the the only way to make it a little bit (feel) safer, creating a “transfer”-folder with copies of the files I will sharing? And after that I delete the files in this transfer-folder?
In this way the created and via mail send link, will later be “dead” … I hope

Greetings
