Safepoint is not recognized. (MBLD1 to MBLD2)  .Possible cause : Firmware update. Renamed drives ( added a 1 & 2 to differentiate between them)

Is one of these things the likely cause of the safepoint of MBLD1, onto MBLD2 the cause ?

Is there a way to fix this ?  If not , how to delete the Safepoint that is not seen.

As a recommendation, you can try resetting the drive and reinstalling the latest firmware manually. You can download that firmware directly to your computer from our web site.

Most likely the rename caused the problem.

Sounds like you should recreate your safepoint.

On the drive the safepoint was being stored on, look for a folder called _WDPROD. That contains the safepoint. Delete that folder and you will be good to go.

After hours of research , I found that you need to connect the drive 2  with the SP of drive1 , before you connect Drive 1.

If drive 1 is connected first , the safe point you need to update to on drive 2 never shows up.

So using multiple drives & safepoints , power up the drive with the safepoint on it FIRST , then the drive that is safepointed !!!
