Major problems with this botched device:

  • unable to proceed with the warranty registration. 

  • 30000 - Unknown error. Retry your last operation. If the error persists, contact WD Support for assistance.
    (register_device_nosuccess)

  • snail-like speed transfer (approx. 200 kb/s)- an issue raised with numerous users of this “device” but never properly answered by the “staff” of this “community” demanding though “cudos” for their “advice”. 

  • when transfering files on the Duo the connection always breaks down (it’s usually a matter of one or two minutes). For this reason downloading directly to the Duo is also impossible. The connection with the drive is lost, and you cannot continue with your download.

Is there any practical solution to these issues, or should I rather throw this drive to the garbage can where it seems to belong?

I don’t have a PhD in network architecture and I’m not willing to spend months of my life reasering those things, so please have this in mind and use only an appropriate non-geekish language.
