On powering up i get a white light at the bottom of the strip on the front, and a green led on the network port on the back. After 45 secs the white light goes off. I can’t hear or feel the drive spinning up. wd discovery cant see the drive. wd tech support took me through resetting the drive, which had no effect, and advised checking the psu. they also said its possible the drive is too full and i should have done maintenance on it, and that maybe i should be looking at data recovery. The psu output seems good - 12v. finally i have made it start by pushing the power button on the back several times. please can anyone advise - does this mean the drive is faulty or i’m using it wrong or what? thanks for any help.
This sounds stupid but try turning the plug 180 deg in the outlet. Also try a different outlet.
