How restore for Virtual CD (VCD) for My book elite

I had use a wd My book elite, I change new wd harddisk because old harddisk bad error

I want restore virtual cd (VCD) have setup WD SmartWare soft

pls help me

If the new hard drive is from a newer generation then it simply won’t have a VCD. If you want WD SmartWare, you can download it for free from the following link:

This depends on the hard drive generation. Newer WD SmartWare drives do not have a VCD at all except for unlocking the device after a password has been set.

i have a my passport 0730, and i cant make it work, i set a password.

when i connect it the unlock application appears and when i execute it, a message appears that i need to search for the vcd.

the problem is that i dont have the software in my computer anymore and i cant find a way to get it back.

im desperate, i had really important information in this device.
