Hi, sorry if this was asked before, but what is the difference between the WD 3tb Elements External HDD and WD 3tb MyBook? more importantly, how reliable is WD Elements 3TB External Desktop Hard Drive (Model: WDBWLG0030HBK-NESN) ? many people who had one work flawlessly for over 5 years?

An elements is a simple plug and play drive that has no soiftware or hardware encryption. My Book comes with Smartware and has hardware encryption and the option to use a password. Joe
