Accessory hard drive AC power supply

Please excuse me “jumping in” to your site, but I’m at my wits end!

I’m hoping someone can help this “TechDummie”!

I back-up all my work files onto an accessory HD thinking they are “safe”.

Well, now, I’ve been told the power supply switcher has gone bad…

so, now I can’t get anything off of it!  AARRGGHH…

Does anyone know how to find the following cord?

I’ve been online searching for hours, even emailed a place in China (stilll waiting to hear from them);

but have had no luck at all finding one…except one on eBay that is now SOLD!   Bummer!

OK, this is what I need for my Western Digital Accessory HD–Model #:  WD25008012-RNN:

ITE Power Supply

Model #:   AC-005W

Input:  100-240Vac,1A,50/60Hz

Output:  +5V–/2.sA,+12V–/1.5A

Importer:  Omni Co. Ltd

US Listed:  E235587

THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN OFFER!!!    I’m desperate!!!

What make and model is the drive? I can’t find the model# you give above anywhere online.

Hi!

Thanks for asking!

The best I can read these itsy-bitsy numbers are:

WESTERN DIGITAL

MODEL #:  WD25008 (OR B) 012-RNN

SERIAL #:  [edited]

ORDER #:  WDXF25u0JBRNN

Thanks again!

Yep…  Good find, Wizer…

OP’s model appears to be discontinued.

Hmmm, so this mean that since my device looks to be discontinued, that I still can NOT get just a power cord for it?

Sorry!!   THis is why my name is “TechDummie”!:grumpycat:

Thanks!!

You might try contacting tech support…

You should also be able to find a generic power adapter that will work.  You just need to make sure that the output voltage, amperage, and connector is the same.
