WD Mybook as internal drive

I just got my 2TB working and currently moving all my precious data to another drive.

My plan is, i want to convert this into an internal drive. Do you recommend it still?

This will void the warranty, and the hard drive inside may not be able to be work inside a computer system depending on the motherbridge used. Encryption would also need to be removed.

Regards,

Thanks for the suggestion.

My drive is out of warranty. And I don’t think I can trust the controller board to work again for me. So what I did was, I backed up all the data to another drive, moved the disk inside my desktop (SATA), then initialized the drive to make it work without encryption.

Voila, it’s being read now and moved all my media files inside. No, not the pictures. They are far too important to lose.

Bought WD elements for them.

Thanks!
