WD My Book Essential 3.0 2 TB Not working with USB 3.0!

My hard drive is not working if I plug it into usb 3.0, just nothing is happening. It’s working if I plug it into usb 2.0, but come on… the main reason why I bought this hard drive is because it’s got usb 3.0. Usb 3.0 driver un my Asus n53sv laptop is installed properly and now I just don’t know what to do really… 

HELP!

Did the laptop come with USB 3.0 or did you use an addon card? What OS are you using? If you used an addon card check the maker’s site for updates. Make sure USB 3.0 is enabled.

of course my laptop has usb 3.0. I’m currently on Windows 7 ultimate 64bit.

I asked because a lot of people added USB 3.0 to a PC that came out before USB 3.0 and the cards can be a source of problems. Are all of your drivers and USB controlers MB etc updated?
