Problem using my book 250 GB with Windows 7

I had to get a new laptop which has windows 7.  When I hooked up my external my book I get a message saying not compatible with windows 7.  Can this be resolved or am I just SOL?

What OS was your old laptop? If the drive was formatted on Mac it won’t be readable on Windows without additional software like MacDrive. If you don’t need data from it reformat it from windows.
