I’m having issues with my external drive where at times, I cannot see/access the directory path. When I go to windows explorer, I see the drive letter but when I click on it I cannot see the directory structure beneath it. I’m forced to reboot the pc. I noticed numerous occurrences of the following error message in the Event Viewer:
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation
I also periodically receive a windows write error messages indicating a write failure to the $MFT, data is lost (on external drive). Any ideas as to what’s causing this or how to resolve?
