I dropped My Passport and damaged sector/sectors - computer does not recognize the drive. Only a few files are important and not backed-up but all the WD recovery partners are saying it will be a minimum of $350 to fix and as much as $700. Any other options or have I just lost the files?? thanks
Usually a dropped drive is physically damaged and beyond do it yourself fixes. If you are going to go for professional do not do anything with the drive it may cause more damage.
