I have plugged my external drive into a new laptop and it shows in the control panel as an unknown device. The external drive will not load. I have windows 7 so i expected plug n play. But it is say the driver for the unknown device is not installed. All I want to do is get the info off the external drive on to my new computer.
Hi, check the link below and download the SES drives to see if that helps. You can also check if the hard drive is recognized on the disk management window. Since your hard drive is an old my book model, also try connecting it to a computer with and older version of windows (Vista, XP) to see if you have a compatibility problem, or did it used to work on Windows 7?
