How do i connect a mybook to a tv by usb?

I have a WD mybook 3tb it works fine.

but when i try to connect it to my new samsung tv by the usb

in does not recognise that its there.

is it to do with the password?

any help would be great!

It could be the password. The TV may not be able to use a 3T drive. The drive most likely has to be formatted FAT32 for the TV check that out first.
