External Hard Drive not detected by TestDisk

Hi, I recently tried to copy some data from my laptop to my WD My Book external hard drive (not brand new, I already had some files in it), but I accidentaly disconnected the usb cable while it was still transfering. I was able to access the hard drive at first, but then it stopped showing in “my computer” (windows didn’t recognize it anymore).

So, I’ve checked the Device Manager and it was still there (“USB Mass Storage Device”). Same thing with Disk Management, but it was marked as “Unknown” and “Not Initialized.” Everytime I select “Initialize Disk” it says “The device is not ready.”

I’ve already tried TestDisk, Recuva, PC Inspector File Recovery, and many others but none of them seem to detect my external hard drive. I tried to google it, but all the TestDisk guides/tutorials don’t say anything about undetected drives.

If possible, I would like to recover all the data, and reformat the disk and be able to use it again.

Any suggestions?

Here’s some screenshots (sorry about pasting the images directly, I had a hard time trying to make the size not so horrible):

WD External HD missing from TestDisk’s list (the one showing up is my internal hard drive, the external one has 1.5TB): http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/9917/dr3.png

Since the drive isn’t recognized now I don’t know what other software to recommend. Try downloading and burning a Linux Live CD and boot from that and see if the drive gets recognized. Try booting then connecting drive if that doesn’t work try booting with drive connected.Sometimes you can get to the drive that way.

No luck so far. Also, I tried Findandmount but didn’t find any partitions
