Enthusiast/WD Raptor X - speed/transfer mode mismatch reported by speccy

I have been trying to get to the bottom of why the transfer mode status for this external drive (marked in bold type below) appear mismatched and, so far unresolvable in my Windows 7 x64 system.  This is obviously causing a significant slow-down in data transfer and I don’t seem to be able to locate a firmware update for it.  I didn’t think it was so old but nevertheless is described as “legacy” on WD support pages.

If anyone can shed any light I’d appreciate it.

Hello,

Can you share the model number of your drive?

Looking on the base sticker there is a serial number “S/N” and an additional reference labelled “P/N” , as this is the only other number apart from the S/N I’m going to assume you mean this one?

WDBAAU0020HBK-01

Hello,

The model number you have provided is for a WD Elements drive. Did you remove the internal drive from the Elements enclosure? or you a referring to the Elements itself?

Thanks for your response.  No, haven’t removed or modified the drive in any way.  Guess Speccy could be reporting this incorrectly?
