Drive shows in devices but not in my computer

Aha! I found the advice I needed at www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-change-the-drive-letter-in-windows-xp-for-an-external-us… I found this source by doing a google search for “assign drive letter to new hdd windows 8”

Now the drive is being recognized in My Computer. CDDub
