Broken USB 3.0 Connector on my MyBook Essential

I have had this MyBook essential(2tb) for a year or so, but the USB3.0 connector broke. Whay are my options? What’s the warantee on one of these? If there’s no warantee, can I replace the case enclosure? If I can, is it a 3.5 in SATA?  Would something like this work: http://www.amazon.com/Vantec-NST-300S2-BK-3-5-Inch-External-Enclosure/dp/B0015LURY2/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1363967112&sr=1-1&keywords=external+hard+drive+case+3.5?

Opening the drive voids the warranty. If the drive came with Smartware it is hardware encrypted by the board with the broken port. Moving the drive to another enclosure or connecting as an internal won’t work. You can try having the port slodered back on by an electronics repair person or try a board from an identical drive or try to find one on ebay. This explains abit about matching them up http://community.wdc.com/t5/Off-Topic-Discussions/Bridge-Boards/td-p/353839
