Backup scheduled for 3 AM does not execute if Windows 8 desktop PC is in “sleep” mode. Starts backup when manually taken out of sleep mode. Our other Windows 7 desktop PC backs up fine when left in sleep mode. Seems to me to be an operating system issue. Wondering if anyone has experienced this.
Your comp should be in IDLE mode, coz if your comp is sleeping it means its not doing anything. You can disable sleep mode in windows power setting.
Thank you for your quick response. I guess I will need to leave this PC on. It seems odd that the other Win7 PC backs up just fine while in sleep mode. Backup takes about 30 minutes, then PC goes back to sleep.
