Hi…New member to this forum but I recently formatted my Dell desktop with XP and forgot to unhook my newer 3TB My Book Essentials external hard drive beforehand. I have just purchased a new Dell all In One Desktop and when I hooked up this 3TB Drive it is NOT recognized. I have tried it 4 times. The drive light comes on but its almost as if this drive was also formatted. I have hooked up another drive I had to this new computer and its recognized immediately.
Is it possible that I have formatted the My Book drive when it was left hooked up to the XP computer? If so is there any way I can reinstall the Drives Software so it will function again? Any assistance will be appreciated.
