3T External Drive not recognized

About a week ago, I bought the 3T WD external hard drive.  I have not been able to use it since my computer doesn’t seem to know it is there.  Any suggestions?

What OS are you using? Did you look to see if the drive shows in Disk Management? Maybe it needs a letter assigned.
