By looking at the thread list in Activity Monitor (Mac Mavericks), I see there are two “wddriveutilityhelper” and “wdhelper” that I cannot understand what they do. Their CPU percentage is zero.
Since there is report of troubles with WD drive software, I would be sure this is not potentially harmful software. Does anybody know what these threads are? Should I try to remove the generating software (something residing inside the /private/var/ folder – /private/var/folders/jn/91m__3851rb__dp8grm464mr0000gn/T/WDDriveUtilityHelper.app/Contents/MacOS/WDDriveUtilityHelper)
