have a mac formatted my book studio 2tb drive. working on a mac station.
needed to remove my drive from the housing and tried to get it to recognize in a voyager drive reader. the drive showed up but the mac could not read it. after installing it back in the housing the drive contents showed up.
how come the drive could not be read outside the wd housing?
If it’s a drive that came with Smartware it’s hardware encrypted by the circuit board with the USB port on it.
