I have a brand new drive which I’ve connected to my mac but it won’t show on my desktop or in disk utility at all. I’ve tried it on a slightly older mchine tho where it appears perfectly. Wazzup?

If you are using a USB powered portable drive, be sure to connect the USB cable directly to the Mac, using extension cables or USB hubs can cause power inconsistencies. You might also want to try connecting the drive to another Mac to verify if the problem continues.
