Which model/product should I buy?

Hello,

I have an Apple desktop with MAC OS X 10.4.11 (tiger) and I want to buy a portable HD to backup all my files before upgrading the OS. I don’t want cloud solutions. Some friends told me My Passport is good but I can’t decide which model will work on my computer. The models suggested on WD site (for MAC, Studio, Air and Pro) are not so easy to find in my country, and also they are specified for newer OS versions (Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion).

Is there any model that could be used with older MAC OS like mine?

I’d appreciate any help, please.

Hello,

None of the new models officially support Mac OS 10.4, but you should be able to use them without any problems.

Hello,

It’s not being easy to find the My Passport models that officially support Mac OS 10.4. So I think I’ll buy another model, since you wrote I should be able to use them without any problems. I found the silver model, but not the one “For Mac”.

Do you think it will work? Maybe I’ll have to format the drive (Disk Utility option)? Any suggestions?
